I frequently find myself asking these questions: Why do people so often choose to lie rather than tell the truth? Would we actually be better off if everyone always told the truth?" Is it to make up for the things we think we lack which we see in other people? I believe that all of us lack something and you may be better at this and I may be better at that. Where, really, did this whole lying thing begin?????

It's odd you post that, as I just went though a BIG ordeal with someone lying about something they stated they were working one, and had truly forgot about it for the last month and a half.

my co-worker should JUST FREAKING SAY SO THEY MESSED UP, AND WE CAN WORK IT OUT! DONT LIE TO ME TRY TO MAKE ME LOOK A FOOL! DON'T BITCH CAUSE I AM TAKIN ACTION ON YOUR SCREW UP!

Sorry I had to vent too :( I just had a thing with someone lying at my work too.

are you asking me or janet?

I am confused...
But I completely agree. why lie? WHY? Now in a way I can understand the tiny white lies. So maybe that is how it began. White lies turned into worse and worse. Lying just doubly or even triply complicates things. It ruins things and people. It should stop!!

I can't say I have never lied. I really do not do it much these days. I feel like poeple need to be able to accept the truth for what it is. Lie, get a false reaction. Tell the truth, get more honest reaction whether you like the reaction or not at least you know it is how one really feels. Maybe I am just babbling.

I do not think you are babbling, just stating what should be obvious to everyone, but obviously isn't. I also see a lie as trouble. Screw up and admit then things get fixed easier than screwing up, lying to cover up your screw up, then getting caught in a screw up and the lie.... Nothing good comes from that!
